Before emailing us questions, read the most often asked questions that we get asked:
How do I get my ring size?
Pop into your local jewellery store to measure your size. We can only work with the information you give us, if the size is incorrect, resizing the ring will be at your cost.
What is my Birthstone?
There are 3 common birthstone lists – Modern, Ancient and lists according to the Zodiac. These lists are not static and do change. You can have a look at the blog to see a few of the latest monthly birthstones.
Gold plating is not permanent, as it is a thin layer of metal coating the sterling silver. It does wear off over time, depending on how often the piece is worn and can be affected by chemicals such as chlorine, detergents and general day to day wear. Plating can also be affected by skin acidity – shortening the life span of the coating. The piece will then go back to looking silver and can be re-plated at anytime. If you rub or clean plated jewellery often you will rub the plating off the jewellery.
Don’t panic if you have the “green finger effect” – it is a reaction to the copper alloy in the sterling silver that takes place, especially if you have high body acidity. It happens to about 2-3% of people and this percentage is increasing due to increased percentages of chemicals in our environment, medications we take and foods we eat.

Why does my metal turn black?
Metals naturally develop a surface of patina over time, caused by oxygen, perfumes and skin acidity. Some people also have more acidic skin than others, and therefore the oxidation can occur at a more rapid pace. Silver jewellery will also develop a patina if it is not worn regularly. A soft cloth and some Handy Andy cream can be used to clean most pieces of jewellery, with the exception of pearls, opals and emeralds. DO NOT use this method to clean these gems.
Do we remodel old jewellery?
Yes, we love breathing new life into old pieces, making them continue their story.
Are your metals and gemstones conflict free?
Our metals are supplied to us by suppliers who are part of the RJC – Responsible Jewellery Council. This council ensures that no human rights were infringed upon on during the mining process. Our diamonds are Conflict free and mined in South Africa.
Do my jewellery pieces need to be serviced?
Yes, you should have your pieces checked for loose stones and to ensure your settings are secure.
Can I clean my jewellery with bleach?
NO! NEVER clean your jewellery with bleach, it can pit the surface of the metal and damage your jewellery. A soft cloth and some Handy Andy cream can be used to clean most pieces of jewellery, with the exception of pearls, opals and emeralds. DO NOT use this method to clean these gems.
